Viviti Launched!
After months of hard work we're proud to finally launch Viviti into the wild - sort of. For information on what Viviti is, you can check out the 'Learn more' page on the site.
To begin with we are going to be running in a beta, which means you need to get a Beta Key to signup. This will help us by allowing a smaller user base early in the development process while we are still working on important functionality. We're going to try to incorporate as much feedback from this initial user base as we can.
In the next couple of days the front page of viviti.com will have a form where you can signup if you are interested in receiving a beta key, and we will continue to grow our user base as we progress. The earlier you signup for a beta key, the quicker you will get one as we will be giving them away as first-come first-serve!
We'll be posting updates here as we go, so check back for updates.
I would like to build a website using my photo's of our native fish. My question is: Do you offer protection from pictures being stolen by disabling the right click (save picture as)? If not, please take me off your mailing list.
Ron
I would love to use for some of my smaller clients or offer as a service through our company! I can't wait to test the BETA! This could save us tons of hours, money and offer better pricing to our clients as well as give them complete control!
i already pay for bravenet site hosting will i be able to get this? as an alternative to what i already pay for?
will you be willing to move me over or what?
I paid for my blog at bravenet for the longest time but became frustrated with the lack of freedom. Every blog I could find puts their ads and promotional items along the side but bravenet does not let you do that. All of your promotional items have to be placed in the header which becomes so large that your blog may not be seen when visitors come by, so I now have my own wordpress blog under my own domain. My braveblog pro expired on the 5th of May and I noticed you still maintain my pro status. Either I am that important to you or you have just forgot all about me.
I still strangly enough get a lot of traffic on my bravenet blog even though I hardly post to it.
It would be really nice if I could run it the way I want to.
@Ron Everheart - as long as the print screen button is on a keyboard I cannot see a way to prevent images being stolen. They say however that Javascript is supported so you should be able to implement something like what is outlined here to disable the right click (there are other techniques described too): http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=41
Viviti is a separate system, so websites hosted at Bravenet can't be directly imported.
I can understand the trubble and frustration with having images stolen
However, If you disable the right click function on all bravenet sites it will make it difficult for those of us who run Fan based websites to offer fan based images to our users. We are very carefull not to take images from other sites unless that sites owner has allowed us to do so.
I think there needs to be a way to stop the theft of images without making it difficult for owners of fan based websites to offer their users the ability to collect fanbased images.
Please keep in mind that though alot of site owners use bravenet for hosting buissness sites there are those of us who use this systom to provide a fan based website as well. Something you might waunt maynot be the besat soulition for all bravenet members.
Bave net has a base of meny different websites of which it hosts some are buissness sites and others are fanbased sites and still others are personal sites.
I think it is inporitant to remember this in desgining a new webste builder
On another note, I would very much like to see more rescoiurces available to bravenet members without our sites having to meet certion critera
Hey there!
I wrote an email before, but never saw a reply to it. When will Viviti be up as i am planning to put a website shortly (within 4-6 weeks) but would rather wait for Viviti then use Bravenet as it offers better choice on designs.
Could you let me know if it is worth waiting or should I just go on as this might take more than a few months to be finished or allow more beta users on the platform?
Thanks for your reply!
Best wishes
Nadia
I have created and published 3 free websites with Trellix - have Bravenet counters on them. I upload files via FTP-will that be a choice with Viviti?
