Viviti 0.1.2 released and we're sending beta keys!

Posted May 22, 2008

Firstly, thanks for all your comments and suggestions, we appreciate everyones input. With the release of version 0.1.2 today, we've finally started sending out beta keys so you can help out even more. We've had an incredible number of beta key requests, so we're sending out a limited number of keys. If you're one of the lucky ones who receives one, please sure to give us your feedback and invite your friends. Every account will receive 10 free invites to share!

In addition to the various bug fixes and user interface improvements we're constantly doing, we've added a number of new features.

Our RSS and Atom feed component is now faster and better. When you import a feed you can now specify the number of entries to show, whether you want to show the whole feed, just the titles, or a short summary, and you can easily select which display from sites with multiple feeds.

You can now upload images, documents, and many more types of files into the new file manager, which automatically sorts by file type and allows you to organize your files into personalized collections.

To compliment the file manager, we've added a fantastic image component which allows you to display images from your file manager on your web site in any way you choose. Custom sizes, preset size options, image cropping, and resizing are all available. You can even set up a slideshow, link, or lightbox for when somebody clicks one of your images.

The already full featured blog component now supports tagging, we're adding even more hardcore anti-spam technology to what we've already done. Keeping your blogs spam free is important to us.

Although Viviti will not support themes from the Bravenet system, we have been constantly adding fresh, modern, CSS and web standards based themes and will continue to do so. It's a top priority of ours to make sure we have unique, high quality themes for you to choose from.

If you already have your own yourname.com web site, you can now point it to your Viviti site by mapping an A name record to it.

All in all, it's been a busy month here and we're proud to release this version and welcome you eager beta testers! Thanks for your continued patience during our beta cycle.

4 TCA: May 23, 2008

Oh, ok. I thought you only sent out a few. Are you sending them out to all the people signed up?

6 EMT: May 23, 2008

I hope this will be better than bravenet's and will be a much user-friendly web maker with its free version.

I've signed up for the beta key. Let's get started!

7 Cid: May 23, 2008

Got mine thanks!

8 TCA: May 24, 2008

When will the Internet Explorer bugs be fixed? I really want my key.

9 TCA: May 24, 2008

Oh, I forgot, can you have more than one viviti site?

10 Lori: May 25, 2008

I have a new business that I'm very anxious to get online, to support the sales I'm experiencing locally. If you could give us some idea of how long we have to wait to get our key to get our website up, it would be helpful. I'm really under the gun to get a site up and operational.
Thanks

20 andrew: May 29, 2008

This is cool, but yet again its a hosted service!! when will someone create something like this that we can actually put on our own servers, heck I am thinking about building it myself.

21 TJ: May 29, 2008

Ok, I Hate To Be Rude But I Never Got By BETA Key! When Am I Going To Get One???!!!

23 Daniel Insley: May 29, 2008

@TJ: Please be patient. The Beta keys are sent out on a first come, first serve basis. People who have signed up before you will receive theirs first. We're sending out batches of beta keys each day, so you should get yours soon. :)

24 Tommy: May 30, 2008

Well, I Think I Am Going To Try Something Else.....I Signed Up For A Beta Key And I Never Got One. You Don't Need A Beta Key Just To Get A Website, Now Do You!?

25 Holly: May 31, 2008

As a loyal Bravenet user for the past four years, I have to say I'm really excited about this new upgrade to the website builder, Jerrett. I do have a website, but I don't want to do anything to it until Viviti is launched; I want to play! :)

Question: Will Bravenet users be able to work the new Viviti web builder so that blogs are embedded as pages, rather than having to fiddle around with the coding to add the link? (Look at how WordPress does things; that's what I'm getting at)

Overall, Jerrett, you guys totally rock, and I for one am a very proud paying member of Bravenet. :)

26 Jason Tom: May 31, 2008

I'll say, after how many years I've been using Bravenet, I think almost 7 years. I just want to thank Bravehost and Viviti on bringing us clean new features. Viviti is awesome, and has made my life feel a lot better. There are some bugs from the beta I am experiencing that I am sending about that I hope will be resolved soon. Thanks again Bravehost and Viviti!

27 TJ: June 1, 2008

Ok Again, I Hate To Be Rude But I Still Never Got My Beta Key! Could You Guys Like, Post A New Blog Entry That Tells Us We Are Going To Get More Beta Keys? I Would Like To Get My Website On The Internet!

29 TJ: June 2, 2008

Jerrett, Sorry I Just Would Like My Site To Get On The Web.

30 TJ: June 2, 2008

Jerrett,
Will Sites Be Able To Have Web Forms????

31 yt: June 6, 2008

32 TJ: June 6, 2008

I Got My Beta Key Thanks!

34 yt: June 6, 2008

I understand about the number of people signing up. I was just curious as to the average waiting period: 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, etc.

35 hmmm: June 7, 2008

How many requests do you get for beta keys daily, compared to how many are actually sent out?

example -
X keys requested:Y keys sent

36 champions: June 7, 2008

What are the name servers to forward my domain?

38 Margreet Fortune: June 16, 2008
